June 15, 2011 – Two of Brazil's most thrilling and dynamic musicians – guitarist Yamandú Costa and mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda – have a new CD coming out of their electrifying performance at a São Paulo concert hall.
Hamilton de Holanda & Yamandu Costa
Adventure Music sent us an advance copy of the disc, which will be released in mid-July, and gave us permission to present a sample track.
Adventure Music provided this background:
“On their first recorded collaboration, two of the most celebrated players of their respective emblematic instruments – Yamandú Costa on the 7-string guitar (violão) and Hamilton de Holanda on the 10-string mandolin (bandolim) – deliver an impressive set of eleven songs that capture the spirited energy and compelling rapport that can only occur when two such musical masters unite onstage. Recorded at a concert in São Paulo, Brazil in 2008, Yamandú Costa and Hamilton de Holanda
Live! features ten original compositions as well as the duo's interpretation of the legendary Ernesto Nazareth's 'Sliding' (Escorregando).
